Transport yourself to a bygone era

We offer historic tours monthly. Led by Pam Dupuy, steward, and sixth generation owner, explore the castle and grounds as you learn the rich history of Northeastern Louisiana, Layton Castle, and its inhabitants.

Our castle also makes a wonderful backdrop for photo shoots, both indoors and out.

Monthly Tours

One Saturday a month at 10am we offer a house and grounds guided tour (weather & other events permitting).

Your tour includes the historic residential apartment, the family cemetery, and the 1790s Winehouse Museum.

Learn about Judge Henry Bry who helped write and signed the first Louisiana Constitution representing Ouachita, how he helped rename Monroe, and more.

Explore the historic gardens and trees. After the tour, you are welcome to stroll the grounds and have a picnic.

Custom Tours

We offer private group tours to schools, history buffs, and even ghost hunters! Your group of 10 or more can tour Layton Castle to learn about its role in early Louisiana history, explore the beautiful grounds, and historic winehouse museum.

We would love to host your photo shoot on our historic property.

You may choose to schedule only the exterior, or both the interior and exterior. For photos on the grounds only, you can schedule through our automated system - reserve a date and time, agree to the waiver, pay online.
